Tender Greens, It’s Friday

Every week, we the contributors of SuperGlooze are going to round up some things that we have been really enjoying this week and share them with anyone willing to give it a try. We’ll try and keep a good mix of free/paid/subscription stuff because unlike a tree, we aren’t made of money.

Annie: This week I’ve been really into upbeat, summery songs, particularly jams from the British DJ Sigala. It’s seriously infectious and oh so dancable. I also read a really interesting article this week from Outside about the history of the Bear Lady of North Dakota, a real, inspiring, badass woman who dropped her life to live among the wilderness. It’s a really fascinating (and ultimately, tragic) read.

DLou: One of my absolute favorite podcast is Crybabies and this week’s episode is Live from the Bell House and it includes the glorious clip of Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand singing on Judy’s show. Omg perfection. Also, this week I watched all of Grace and Frankie season 2, a wonderful show, Lily Tomlin is my hero and my life goal and my everything I think, and everyone should watch it, also June Diane Raphael can get it.

Ashley: I read a few things this week that really affected me. First was this piece by Ta-Nehisi Coates on The Atlantic about the idea of home and the cavalier attitude we have toward the privacy of people who are famous. Also, I was absolutely enthralled by this investigation from Jezebel into a probably-cult targeting young women in New York City. And finally, I’m going to be a naughty self-promoter and tell you about my essay for The Establishment on my relationship with one of my old abuser’s other targets.
