Every week, we the contributors of SuperGlooze are going to round up some things that we have been really enjoying this week and share them with anyone willing to give it a try. We’ll try and keep a good mix of free/paid/subscription stuff because unlike a tree, we aren’t made of money.
Annie: This week I fell in love with the band Years and Years after getting the opportunity to see them play at a small local venue. The whole performance (music, dancing, lights) was incredibly captivating. If you like dance-y indie pop, I highly recommend their music. I’m also really vibing on the Jasmine Avatar IPA from Elysian Brewing Company. It’s delicious and floral without the overt sweetness of some flavored beers, and I think it would be the perfect drink for a warm spring evening.
DLou: Game of Thrones is back! Or, as I like to call it (pushes up glasses, straightens cape) A Song of Ice and Fire, so this week I’d like to recommend reading. Do you have to read that really long, at times a bit too verbose, fantasy series by George RR Martin? No, you definitely do not, but this week I suggest relaxing your brain with a good old fashioned book of print. I would also like to recommend Alpha Hydrox lotion because I’ve been using it for about a month now and my skin and I are in a very good place with it.
Ashley: Are you a current or hopeful future parent? I know that’s not really our demographic here, but you never know. If so, please read this piece from The Cut on the dangers and damages of spanking your children. Come on, guys. Don’t hit little kids. Or if you’re that determined to, do it knowing the risks. Also, in preparation for the upcoming premier of X-Men: Apocalypse, I’d recommend reading X-Men: Age of Apocalypse, especially if you’ve read the other X-classics and are looking to expand your mutant knowledge.
