Tell Gregg, It’s Friday!

Every week, we the contributors of Superglooze are going to round up some things that we have been really enjoying this week and share them with anyone willing to give it a try. We’ll try and keep a good mix of free/paid/subscription stuff because unlike a tree, we aren’t made of money.

First of all, I bought three NYX Macaron Lippies and they have changed my life. I get compliments on the lavender every time I wear it. They only cost six dollars each (!!!!!!!), they don’t get flaky or dry and the colors are super vibrant. If I could polyamorously marry these lipsticks, I would. In fact I’m going to buy three more next time I get paid.

Also, I would not have made it through this week but by the grace of Hiball energy drinks. The sugar-free sparkling waters are literally the only product I’ve ever encountered that wake me up sufficiently without making me feel jittery. They are all-natural and unsweetened so they’re actually not even bad for you. It’s okay to be skeptical. I was, too. But in this case I can assure you…. *whispers* the hype is real.

AND FINALLY, I’m all caught up on Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. I have been waiting so many years for Doreen Green to get her own series, and Ryan North and Erica Henderson’s hilarious, emotionally intelligent and socially progressive work on it has consistently exceeded my already sky-high expectations. This run will go down as a classic, mark my words.

My friend got me into Emily King, you can watch her perform on Conan for an intro to her amazing, soulful music and badass style.

2 shows I am loving recently:  Idiotsitter is kind of like a modern-day “Tommy Boy”.  Modern-day because the 2 leads are women, and over the course of the series they’re able to grow beyond the straight (wo)man vs raucous (wo)manchild formula. It’s raunchy but still an overall sweet, positive show.  Schitt’s Creek is Eugene Levy’s series he co-created with his son David.  They are delightful in their fish out of water story, rich people forced to live in small town America. Catherine O’Hara is obviously amazing as always. Watch Season 1 here.

In honor of SXSW, I’m going to share the debut LP of the Austin-based nine piece country rock band, Sweet Spirit, specifically the song Rebel Rebel. Also, the first episode of the Lonely Island produced sketch show, Party Over Here premiered this week and I’m really excited about it, catch up on Hulu. Lastly, my current favorite podcast, Doughboys, is having a March Madness tournament all their own as they review chain burger restaurants in an all out burger brawl, highly recommend.
